Youth Club runs on Friday nights during term time in St Catherine's Hall on the Kings Road and is open to young people in school years 5 and 6.
What do we get up to?
Around the middle of 2014 it became apparent among many people that there appeared to be very little provision for young people in Canton, and with, at that time, continuing cuts to Council budgets that situation would probably only get worse. Therefore members of the Churches Together in Canton looked at starting a Youth Club for School Years 5 & 6 with the hopes of expanding this in the future if there was demand.
Some of the activities we offer on the Friday nights are First Aid Training, Cooking, Crafts and sewing, Study Groups, Team Games and Sports, Scout type games and activities (camping, bushcraft, etc), Forest Skills Training, Playing with Parachutes, World Food nights, Days out and trips, Evening visits (for instance cinema, bowls, ice-skating), Discos and music nights, Weekly tournaments (pool, table tennis, darts, etc), Drama, Street dance and cheerleading, Learning to DJ and mix, Photography, Art, Guest speakers, Classic games (for instance Twister), Headline activities (for instance Kayaking, climbing, jet ski). This club will be based out of St. Catherine's Church and will run from 7pm to 9pm.
